Xavier Hill-Mais recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds plus added three steals as the Oakland men's basketball team earned a 89-73 win at Milwaukee Saturday night inside Panther Arena.
Brad Brechting led the Golden Grizzlies (12-16, 8-7 HL) with 21 points on 9 of 12 shooting and tied a career high with four blocks.
Tray Maddox Jr. scored 17 points, his sixth game scoring in double figures, while also grabbing five rebounds.
Karmari Newman also scored 17 points and matched a career high with four assists, while
Braden Norris added eight points, seven assists and a career high six rebounds.
In the first half, Oakland shot 57 percent (17 of 30) and held Milwaukee (9-18, 4-10 HL) to just 35 percent (11 of 31) shooting.
Oakland was solid defensively tallying six blocks and 10 steals. The Golden Grizzlies held Milwaukee to just 30 percent shooting from three-point range (7 of 23).
The win gave the Golden Grizzlies its fourth-straight victory at Milwaukee as Oakland has won five of the last six meetings in the series.
Oakland will close out the regular season with three home games beginning Saturday, Feb. 23 against in-state rival Detroit Mercy.
