
AKRON, Ohio – Samantha Galloway recorded a win in both doubles and singles play to help guide the Oakland tennis team to a 6-1 win over Chicago State on Saturday.

The Golden Grizzlies swept the doubles competition with
Ava Thielman and
Darya Maltseva earning a win at the No. 1 spot (6-3),
Alexandra Whall and
Amanda Nilsson winning 7-6 (8) at No. 2, and
Dasha Artamonova and Galloway coming away with a 6-1 win at the No. 3 spot.

Thielman, Maltreva, Galloway, Whall and Nilsson all earned a point in singles play.

Oakland was originally scheduled to take on Tennessee on the campus of University of Michigan on Sunday, but that match has been canceled. The Golden Grizzlies will travel to take on Saginaw Valley Sunday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m.
