INDIANAPOLIS -- The Horizon League announced the 2018-19 men's basketball schedule on Wednesday with Oakland beginning league play on the road Dec. 28 at Cleveland State and Dec. 30 at Youngstown State. The Golden Grizzlies will play their conference home opener Jan. 3 against defending regular season champion Northern Kentucky.
Oakland will face Metro Series rival Detroit Mercy at Calihan Hall on Jan. 19, then host the Titans Feb. 28 inside the O'rena. The Golden Grizzlies will host Green Bay on Jan. 12 for its fourth annual WinterFest game.
Oakland will play 17 home games at the O'rena this season plus host the Men's Against Breast Cancer Oakland Hoops Challenge Nov. 23-25.
Every Horizon League men's basketball game will be available on ESPN's family of networks. Full television information and start times will be announced on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Continuing a partnership that began during the 2014-15 season, ESPN+ and ESPN3 will be the home for the League's live streaming game content. The Horizon League has streamed every conference basketball game for an industry-best 12 consecutive seasons, beginning its streak in 2007 with the groundbreaking Horizon League Network. Last season over 650,000 fans consumed nearly 20 million minutes of Horizon League men's basketball action.
The dates and bracket for the 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship will also be released at a later date.
