Nikita Telesford also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds while
Kahlaijah Dean added two blocks defensively.
After both teams were evenly matched throughout the first three quarters, the fourth quarter proved to be the difference. After a 3-pointer by
Teneea Heston which gave Oakland (3-10, 0-2 HL) a 45-39 lead at the 9:23 mark, Youngstown State (10-3, 2-0 HL) took control of the game with a 13-0 run to take a 52-45 lead while holding the Golden Grizzlies without a field goal for nine minutes down the stretch.
Oakland will host arch-rival Detroit Mercy in a Metro Series showdown on Friday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m.
