INDIANAPOLIS -- Oakland guard
Braden Norris has been named Horizon League Freshman of the Week for the week of Dec. 17-23 announced by the league office Sunday.
Norris, a Hilliard, Ohio native, averaged 15.5 points per game, shooting 69 percent from beyond the arc (9 of 13) and committing just two turnovers in 76 minutes of play.
Against Georgia on Dec. 18, Norris scored 13 points, including a trio of three-pointers plus grabbed a career high five rebounds. Three days later, the Golden Grizzlies traveled to No. 8 Michigan State, as the freshman hit a career high six three-pointers and matched a career best 18 points.
Norris is now shooting 64 percent (32 of 50) from three-point range on the season.
