
INDIANAPOLIS - Oakland's
Noah Jensen and
Evan Sawula were named to the Horizon League Men's Soccer All-Academic Team announced by the league office.

Jensen, a 3.92 sophomore majoring in Actuarial Science, has started all 18 games from his defensive midfield position and ranks second on the team with four assists and tied for fifth with six points. Jensen was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for the period ending Sept. 2 and Nike Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week after helping Oakland to a perfect 3-0 road record. He scored a goal off a penalty kick and recorded an assist in the 6-1 win over Loyola (9/2) and was named All-Tournament Team MVP at Hampton Inn at Loyola Chicago Classic helping Oakland to 2-0 tournament record. Jensen also recorded two assists in Oakland's 3-1 win over Northern Kentucky (10/6) and another in the 4-2 win at Cleveland State (10/27).

Sawula, a 3.93 redshirt sophomore majoring in Bioengineering, has started played in all 18 games with 15 starts and ranks sixth on team with five points notching two goals with an assist. He recorded an assist and scored his first career goal in Oakland's 6-1 win at Loyola helping to Golden Grizzlies to a 2-0 record at the Hampton Inn at Loyola Chicago Classic. Sawula also scored the game-winning goal on his birthday propelling Oakland to a 2-0 win over Duquesne (9/22) and was named Oakland Student-Athlete of the Week.

Oakland earned a No. 3 seed in the 2018 Horizon League Tournament and will host No. 6 seed Milwaukee on Monday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Oakland Soccer Field.
