
ROCHESTER, Mich. - Taylor Jones posted her second double-double of the season with 16 points and career-high 13 rebounds with seven assists while
Nikita Telesford added 17 points, just missing her career-high by one, and six rebounds to lead Oakland to a 71-60 win over Canisius on Sunday night at the O'rena. The Golden Grizzlies dished out a season-high 24 assists on 28 made field goals.
Overall, Oakland (2-4) had four players in double-figures as
LaKyesha Stennis and
Chloe Guingrich each chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively.
Kahlaijah Dean also delivered a career-high seven assists with seven points and five rebounds.
Oakland's quick first half start proved to be the difference as the Golden Grizzlies went 10-for-18 (55.6%) from the floor in the first quarter to take a 24-15 lead and held Canisius (0-5) to only nine points in the second period while scoring 18 points to take a commanding 42-24 lead at the half en route to the win.
