LaKyesha Stennis added 15 points going 5-for-9 from 3-point range as Oakland battled but came up short falling at Kent State, 75-65, to conclude play at the KSU Classic on Sunday.
Oakland kept the game close due to shooting an impressive season high 10-21 (47.6%) from behind the arc. Jones hit a jumper to pull the Golden Grizzlies within four points at 64-58 in the fourth quarter. At the 7:16 mark, she connected on another 3-pointer and was fouled in the process. On the ensuing possession, Kent State came down and connected on a 3-pointer which sparked a 11-4 run to close out the game down the stretch.
Oakland returns home to host Canisius on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m.
