Taylor Jones added 13 points, five rebounds and three steals as Oakland fell 59-32 to Indiana on Veteran Appreciation Day at the O'rena on Sunday afternoon.
Myka Cromwell and
Kayla Luchenbach added three and two points respectively.
Oakland had a hard time climbing out of a first quarter hole in which Indiana outscored the Golden Grizzlies 23-3. Oakland returned the favor in the second holding the Hoosiers to three points but only scored nine points. After a close third quarter, IU used a 12-0 run to open the fourth to seal the game.
The Golden Grizzlies hit the road for a pair of games at the Kent State Classic beginning with Akron on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. followed by Kent State on Sunday, Nov. 18 at 1:30 p.m.
