ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Oakland men's soccer team completed one of the most difficult spring schedules in recent years with great success against some of the top programs in the country.
Highlights:
â-ªOakland finished with a 3-1-2 overall record
â-ªOakland 2, Tiffin 0 - Oakland Sports Bubble (Mar. 17)
-Wilfred Williams scored both goals, Wes Mink recorded shutout
-Tiffin finished the 2016 season with 14-5-2 record winning the GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Tournament title to advance to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Lost in second round to Drury, 2-1.
â-ªOakland 2, Notre Dame 2 - Michigan Bucks College Challenge - Ultimate Soccer Arenas (Mar. 25)
-Goals scored by Jimmy Todd and Nebojsa Popovic
-ND finished the 2016 campaign ranked No. 14 in the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) with a record of 12-7-2 after a NCAA Tournament third round setback to No. 4 Louisville 3-1.
â-ªOakland 1, Butler 1 - Michigan Bucks College Challenge - Ultimate Soccer Arenas (Mar. 25)
-Goal by Austin Ricci
-In 2016, Butler finished 13-5-2 winning the Big East Tournament with a No. 18 NSCAA ranking after falling in the NCAA Tournament second round in penalty kicks to SIUE.

-Goal by Ricci, Sullivan Lauderdale posts shutout
-SVSU finished the 2016 season with a 15-5-2 mark and No. 18 ranking after winning the GLIAC regular season title to advance to the NCAA Division II Tournament. Lost in first round to Drury, 2-1.

-BGSU finished 2016 with 9-6-4 record and second place Mid-American Conference (MAC) finish behind Akron.

-Ricci scored third goal, Lauderdale records second shutout
-In 2016, WMU posted a 9-6-4 record finishing third in the MAC behind Akron and BGSU.
