KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Oakland women's tennis team dropped its season opener to Western Michigan by a score of 6-1. Oakland's sole point came courtesy of Karine Celis in the fourth singles match. Oakland also won the second doubles through the efforts of Celis and Juliana Guevara by a score of 7-5.

Oakland plays next on Jan. 22 at Eastern Michigan. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m. ET.
