ALBRIGHT NAMED WGCA ALL-AMERICAN SCHOLAR

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland's Alyssa Albright was named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, announced by the WGCA on Monday. Albright is now a three-time recipient of the honor.

Albright, a rising senior from Lansing, Mich., earned a Horizon League All-League selection and boasts a 3.73 grade-point average in journalism. She was also named to the Academic All-Horizon League team. Albright posted a 78.79 stroke average this season, good for sixth in the league. She finished tied for eighth at the league championship with a 54-hole score of 237, the 15th best score in program history at the championship.

The selection criteria for the WGCA All-American Scholar Team is a 3.50 GPA and participation in 50 percent of the team's tournaments. A total of 16 players from the Horizon League earned a spot on the scholar team.
