ROCHESTER, Mich. - The women's golf team had a strong Spring season earning a runner-up finish at the Horizon League Championship and have continued that solid play in to the summer months.

"All of the girls playing are working on staying competitive and having success throughout their summers," said head coach Alyssa Gaudio. "I'm looking forward to everyone coming back together and to get working in the fall."

Summer Highlights
â-ª Alyssa Albright, an All-Horizon League performer last season, played in the Michigan PGA Open and was one of only 25 amateurs to make the cut. She finished with a score of 240 good for 66th place. Albright will play in the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM) Women's Amateur at Spring Lake later this summer.

â-ª Morgan Smith, who finished runner-up at the conference tournament, played in the U.S. Women's Open qualifier at Westmoreland Country Club in Wilmette, Ill. and shot a 74 in the second round. She also finished tied for 19th at the GAM Women's Championship with a score of 152.

â-ª Fiona Schmidt has been competing overseas back in Germany and has played extremely well, beating her personal best rounds on two different occasions with a 71 and then a 69.

â-ª Haylee Zyber and Erin Kerr both competed at the GAM Women's Championship and finished tied for 51st and 67th, respectively.
