FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Senior Gabrielle Gogas picked up a point for the Golden Grizzlies in her 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles and was a member of the winning No. 2 doubles team, but it wasn't enough as the Oakland University women's tennis team (1-10, 1-3 Summit League) dropped a 4-1 decision to IUPUI (4-17, 2-3 Summit League) Saturday afternoon at the final day of The Summit League tennis cluster hosted by IPFW
A native of Sarnia, Ontario, Gogas teamed up with junior Amanda Pettey to take an 8-2 victory at No. 2 singles. Sophomore Caitlin Young and Pettey were both leading their No. 2 and No. 5 singles matches before they were ruled unfinished due to IUPUI already gaining the four points needed for the win.
In doubles action, junior Jackie Dinicu and sophomore Caryn Shermetaro lost a close battle at No. 3 singles, 8-6.
The Golden Grizzlies will next take on in-state rival Detroit on Monday, April 5 with a 2 p.m. start scheduled.
