DETROIT - Sophomore Jakob Ziegler shot 1-under-par 67, while senior Travis Peitz and sophomore Phil Gieseker turned in 1-over-par scores of 69 as the Oakland University men's golf team fell to Detroit, 274-276, in an 18-hole dual match played at Detroit Golf Club (Par 68, 5,967 yards) on Friday.
UDM's Britt Pronk matched Ziegler's 67 for the low round of the day. Jeff Clarridge and Mark Hicks each turned in scores of 68 (E) to lead the Titans to victory.
Junior Michael Coriasso shot 3-over-par 71 for the Golden Grizzlies. Playing as individuals, freshman Trevor Rosekrans and junior Tommy Thompson shot 8-over-par scores of 76.
The Golden Grizzlies will be in action again next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 18-19, at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate.
