After notching his league-leading seventh shutout and guiding Oakland to an undefeated Summit League record (5-0-1), Mitch Hildebrandt has been named OU Student-Athlete of the Week.
Hildebrandt made six saves against Western Illinois University on Nov. 7, including a big stop against WIU's Stephen Paterson's penalty kick in the first overtime period. The Livonia, Mich. native went on to preserve the shutout and was named The Summit League Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
The sophomore also leads the league in goals against average (0.66) and save percentage (.891). Hildebrandt is also among the nation's leaders in those categories, including his save percentage being ranked sixth in the country.
