Post-Game Notes
Oakland
• This was senior Derick Nelson's first start of the 2008-09 season, after coming off a broken foot that has had him sidelined since Nov. 13.
• Junior Johnathon Jones is now 12 points away from joining the 1,000 point club. By hitting this mark, he will be the third Golden Grizzly on the roster to reach that plateau (Nelson already has 1,000 and senior Erik Kangas did it on Dec. 7 against Toledo).
• The Golden Grizzlies have now made at least one 3-pointer in the past 609 games. UNLV, Princeton and Vanderbilt are the only three schools that have made a trey in every game since the start of the three-point line in 1986-87.
• Redshirted sophomore Keith Benson has scored 20 points or more against Big Ten school this year, with (20) tonight and a career-high 23 against Michigan on Dec. 20.
• Oakland is now 2-2 all-time at the Palace.
MSU
• Junior Raymar Morgan hit his 1,000th career point with his dunk at 8:52 in the second half.
• The Spartans are now 9-2 at the Palace and 8-0 all-time against Oakland.
• MSU also tied their season-high in three-point shots made with 11 treys.
• Redshirted senior Goran Suton made a career-high two three-pointers. Suton was also just shy of his season-high 18 points with 16.
