Christina Cibrario (Milford, Mich.) won her second individual career title here today, capturing the championship in a three-way, four-hold playoff at the Detroit Titans Invitational. Her win was part of an Oakland team effort that saw four Golden Grizzlies finish in the top-10 as OU swept to the team title as well. Oakland finished with a team score of 645 in the 36-hole event at the Western Golf Club after today???s round of 323, besting the host Detroit Titans by 10 strokes. Cibrario shot a 78 today, matching her 78 from yesterday for a tournament total of 156. Rachel McHenry of Detroit matched Cibrario???s pair of 78s as well, while Oakland???s
Austin McDermaid (Grand Blanc, Mich.), playing as an individual, shot a 77 today to also finish in a tie for first and qualify for the playoff. With Cibrario???s win, McDermaid shared second-place in the final standings with McHenry. Also firing a 78 today for Oakland was
Stacy Goins (Rochester Hills, Mich.) who moved up seven places today to finish seventh with her 36-hole total of 162.
Jenna Goulet (Forest, Ontario) finished one shot behind Goins with a total of 163, finishing eighth overall after her effort of 83 today. Another shot back and alone in the ninth position was
Nikki Swan (Tipp City, Ohio) who came in with an 84 for her second 18 holes for a two-day total of 164.
Laura Kwiatkowski (Ortonville, Mich.) duplicated her first round score of 86 to finish with a 172 and tie for 21st overall. Two other members of the OU squad also participated in the event as individuals.
Alicia Zuckerman (Ann Arbor, Mich.) made the biggest move of any Golden Grizzly on the final day, moving up 10 positions to finish in a tie for 10th after her round of 79, setting a new career best in the process.
Lauren Gardner (Caseville, Mich.) carded an 86 in her final round to finish tied for 18th in the 41-player field with a total of 170. Oakland will return to action for the final time this fall when it plays at the IPFW Invitational on October 16-17 at the Deer Track Golf Club in Auburn, Indiana.
