Heather Redshaw has been named Golden Grizzlies head women's tennis coach for 2000-01. The program which was previously led by Kris Jeffery, was handed over to Redshaw August 7, 2000. "I am extremely excited to have this opportunity to coach at this level," Redshaw said. "I have played Division I tennis and have coached at different levels and now I look forward to the chance to to take OU to the next level in womens tennis." Redshaw will serve as the OU tennis coach in conjunction with her full time position at the Rochester Hills Swim and Tennis Club. She has been at RHTSC since 1998 when she joined the staff as an associate professional. In June 2000, she took on the additional responsibilities as tennis coordinator and coach. Redshaw also served as a tennis instructor for three years for adult and youth participants. Redshaw is USPTA certified and a Prince tennis team representitve. She earned her bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in Exercise Science in 1994 with a minor in biomedical science. She was a member of the Broncos women's tennis team from (1989-91). Redshaw is the sixth head women's tennis coach in the history of OU athletics.
