Jonathan Hill was hired as Assistant Coach of the Women's Basketball Team in April of 2025. Hill brings with him over two decades of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels, bringing extensive knowledge of the game and a passion for player development.
Hill and Head Coach Keisha Newell already have a great rapport, as he has joined Newell at each of her coaching stops in her career.
Hill spent the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach for the Valparaiso women's basketball program, where the Beacons had an eight-win improvement from the previous season and jumped 84 spots in the NET rankings. Prior to Valpo, he also had a successful two-year stint as an assistant coach at Lewis University.
During the 2023–24 season at Lewis, he helped guide the Flyers to a 23-9 record, a Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) regular season championship, a GLVC tournament title, and an NCAA Division II Tournament berth. That campaign also saw the Flyers set a program record for GLVC wins in a single season.
In the 2022–23 season, Hill played an instrumental role in leading Lewis to a 21-11 finish, a second-place spot in the GLVC standings, a trip to the conference championship game, and an at-large NCAA Tournament bid.
Before his collegiate coaching tenure, Hill made an impact at the high school level, including two seasons at Mother McAuley High School, where he helped the Mighty Macs to a regional championship. His coaching resume also includes a stint at Roosevelt University, a successful tenure as head girls' basketball coach at Thornton Fractional South H.S., and his work with the Example Sports AAU program, which achieved a national runner-up finish in 2020.
Hill began building his coaching legacy at Thornwood High School, where he spent four seasons as an assistant boys' basketball coach helping the team to a 75-37 record back-to-back regional championships.
