A Grand Ledge native and Lansing State Journal Dream Team selection for the Comets as a senior, Drew Huard was a four-year starter in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) with the Aquinas College Saints and served as a graduate assistant for the program in 2013.
Becoming a head coach for the first time with Lansing Community College in 2017, he guided the Stars to a Junior College World Series appearance in his first season at the helm and totaled an 81-27 record over two extremely successful campaigns before joining the Davenport Panthers ahead of 2019.
With the Panthers, who compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) at the Division II level, Huard was the program’s Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator and helped pilot Davenport to consecutive regular season and conference tournament titles in 2021 and 2022.
Hired by head coach Jordon Banfield and coming to Rochester prior to the 2024 season, Huard is one of three Oakland assistant coaches and will be at the controls of the Golden Grizzlies’ recruiting efforts, as well as working with the hitters and outfielders.
