Perhaps no two people have been more consistent with their support of Oakland University baseball than Dr. David and Lorna Zalenski. The parents of former OU baseball player Jonathan Zalenski, the Zalenskis have been fixtures at Oakland games for several years.
Dr. David Zalenski is a 1978 graduate of the University of Michigan, and a 1982 graduate of the Wayne State University School of Medicine. An Eagle Scout, Angell B. Scholar at the University of Michigan, as well as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Zalenski is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition to his medical practice, Zalenski is also a clinical assistant professor at the Wayne State School of Medicine. He is a Clinical Instructor of ultrasound in the department of OB/GYN at St. John Hospital and Medical Center, where he is a five-time Clinical Instructor of the Year.
Lorna Zalenski is a 1979 graduate of Madonna University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. An actively involved parent, she served as PTA President, as well as Cub Scout, Brownie, and Girl Scout leader. A member of the St. John Hospital & Medical Center Fontbonne Auxiliary, serving on the Board of Directors for 17 years, Zalenski was the President of the Auxiliary from 2001-03. Zalenski chaired numerous fundraising events for the auxiliary, and served on the St. John Hospital & Medical Center Board of Directors from 2001-03, also serving on the foundation board for one term.
