ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies take their talents to Wisconsin for a two-game road trip this week, facing Milwaukee and Green Bay in a continued week of Horizon League matchups.

Oakland is looking to snap a two-game losing skid after falling to Cleveland State, 2-0, at home on Sept. 19 in its conference opener.

Ranking fourth in the conference in shots per game (13.57), the Golden Grizzlies remain one of the most aggressive teams in the conference.

Aiming to find their footing this season, Oakland faces two teams against whom it found relative success last season, allowing zero goals in two regular-season matches against the Panthers and Phoenix in 2025.

Thursday, Sept. 24 at Milwaukee | 7 PM ET | ESPN+

Oakland faces the reigning league champions in Milwaukee for the first time since the squads met in the 2025 Horizon League Championship semifinals, where the Panthers used home-field advantage to take a 3-0 win en route to their seventh straight conference championship title.

Milwaukee (3-4-2) comes into the week with one conference win under its belt after beating IU Indy, 3-2, in its conference opener. The Panthers are also trying to find their rhythm after a daunting non-conference schedule in which they faced four opponents ranked in the top 25.

With 100 total shots on the season, the Panthers rank just slightly above Oakland, but they sit two spots behind the Golden Grizzlies in shots per game with 11.11.

Milwaukee has scored nine goals in just as many matches, led by Emily Petrig and Abby O'Brien, who both have two goals apiece. Sadbh Griffin is the lead setup player for the Panthers with three assists, tied for fourth most in the conference.

Milwaukee's defense has been anchored by goalkeeper Lauren Nidey, whose four shutouts are the second most in the conference.

Oakland closes its week with a Sunday showdown against the Phoenix, who come into the week with an undefeated 6-0-2 record.

Even with Green Bay's hot start, history is on the side of the Golden Grizzlies. Oakland has only lost three games and won eight in 15 all-time meetings with the Phoenix. In fact, the Golden Grizzlies haven't lost a game to Green Bay since 2017.

Green Bay opened its Horizon League slate with a 1-0 win over Northern Illinois on Sept. 19. In eight matches, Green Bay has allowed just two goals, seven fewer than the next-lowest total in the Horizon League.

Goalkeeper Anna Scott has a league-best five shutouts but hasn't been tested all that often, facing just 25 shots and making 12 saves in eight appearances.

With 12 goals and 10 assists as a team, both top-four marks in the conference, Green Bay is emerging as a top contender in the conference early in the season.

Sarah Hanes and Laney Stark lead the Phoenix with three goals each, but the team has eight different players who have scored a goal, while five players have at least one goal and one assist on the season.

The Golden Grizzlies are poised for another set of high-octane matches as they continue to establish their position in the conference.
