ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies close out their season with a big Metro Series matchup on Halloween, facing Detroit Mercy (UDM) this Saturday.

Oakland is coming off a 1-2 loss to Northern Kentucky on Oct. 25. Nicole Grimaldo added to the Golden Grizzlies' season goal tally with a penalty kick in the 71st minute.

Both the Golden Grizzlies and the Titans are out of the postseason hunt, but that doesn't diminish the intensity of one of the Horizon League's most heated rivalries.

Detroit Mercy (5-10-2, 3-6-1 HL) is coming off a 1-0 win over Wright State on Oct. 25.

The Titans rank in the bottom third of the league in goals scored (13), shots (152) and shots on goal (61). Oakland holds a slight edge over UDM in both shots (186) and shots on goal (70) this season.

Forward Avery Mondeaux leads Detroit Mercy's offense with four goals and an assist. Sophomore midfielder Emma Henry has also been a key contributor, recording three goals and an assist this season.

Mondeaux and Henry will be players to watch against Oakland's defense, which has kept the Golden Grizzlies competitive in several matches despite narrow defeats, with 10 losses coming by just one goal.

After a prolonged scoring drought, Oakland has found the back of the net in two of its last four matches, with Corinne Jenkins and Nicole Grimaldo stepping up to generate momentum for the Golden Grizzlies' attack.

The women's soccer Metro Series reaches its 27th installment, with Oakland holding a 16-7-3 all-time record in the rivalry. Last year's meeting ended in a 2-2 draw in Detroit. After winning six straight matchups from 2017 to 2023, Oakland has gone winless in the last three meetings and will look to reclaim bragging rights in the series.

The Halloween matchup kicks off at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 and will be streamed on ESPN+.
