FRANKLIN, Wis. — Oakland (11-40, 5-19 HL) ended the 2026 regular season falling to Milwaukee (22-31, 14-10 HL) 14-8, on Saturday afternoon at Franklin Field. The Golden Grizzlies recorded a season-high seven doubles in the matchup, contributing to their 11 hits on the day.

Carter Hain contributed with two runs and two hits as redshirt-sophomore
Boston Halloran tallied two runs and two RBIs, also recording a double and a stolen base. Junior
Nick Mardis collected two hits, including two doubles. Later in the game, sophomore
Sam Patton added a run and drove in another with a double.
Milwaukee took an early lead in the first inning after scoring two runs on wild pitches, despite fifth-year
Kyle Revere doubling down the left field line in the opening half.
The Golden Grizzlies responded with three runs in the second. Halloran doubled down the left field line, bringing home Mardis and Hain. Halloran then stole home, giving Oakland a temporary one run lead. However, the Panthers regained the lead with a two-run homer into right field.
Milwaukee extended its lead in the third and fourth innings, taking a 9-3 lead highlighted by an RBI single and double.
The fifth inning saw Oakland narrow the gap as redshirt-senior
Jack Lux walked and scored on a single by redshirt-junior
Sam Griffith. It was followed up by junior
Ben Clark's sacrifice fly, bringing home another run, making it 11-5. However, the Panthers added two more runs in their half of the inning.
Oakland scored again in the sixth inning when Hain crossed the plate on a wild pitch, but Milwaukee added another run in the bottom half, making it 14-6.
The eighth frame was scoreless for both teams. In the ninth inning, Oakland capitalized on a Milwaukee error and a wild pitch, allowing Halloran and Patton to score. However, the game concluded with Milwaukee leading 14-8.

Ethan Glassman worked over 2.2 innings, surrendering six earned runs on four hits, despite earning five strikeouts from the mound. Out of the bullpen, freshman
Tagertt Dillard contributed a brief 1/3 inning, permitting a hit, but no runs, before freshman
Will Paxson got some action across two innings. Grad senior
Camden Cooper made his way on the mound for Oakland with one inning, allowing two runs on two hits. Position players Halloran and Hain closed down the seventh and eighth innings for OU on defense. Halloran conceded one run on two hits while earning a strikeout as Hain went scoreless, giving up a hit and also earning a punchout.
The No. 5 seed Golden Grizzlies will take on No. 4 seed Youngstown State in the single-elimination play-in game of the 2026 Horizon League Baseball Tournament on Wednesday, May 20 at Nischwitz Stadium in Dayton, Ohio. First pitch is set for 5 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
