Oakland Faces Tough Test at No. 15 Michigan

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland women's tennis team fell to No. 15 Michigan, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon at the Varsity Tennis Center.

The Wolverines (15-6, 11-1 Big Ten) swept the Golden Grizzlies (6-10, 2-1 HL), marking the 11th time this season they have held an opponent scoreless. In doubles, Michigan earned wins on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts, resulting in an unfinished match on the No. 2 court and an early lead for the hosts.

In singles, sophomores Martyna Piechowicz and Nisa Bulut faced two of Michigan's three ITA-ranked competitors on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts. The Wolverines went on to claim all six singles matches in straight sets, marking this Oakland's toughest competition of the season thus far.

Oakland's result mirrored its previous outing against the Wolverines, with Michigan now holding a 2-0 advantage in the all-time series against the Black and Gold. Turning back to Horizon League play, the Golden Grizzlies aim to remain atop the conference standings as they head toward the Horizon League Championships at the end of the month.
