MARION, Ind. - The Golden Grizzlies opened their outdoor season on Friday, Mar. 20, as they headed to the Polar Bear Invite, competing in the men's and women's 5K races.
The women started the action, as
Makenna Scott sped to her first win of the outdoor season, taking the top spot in the women's 5K with a time of 18:19.01.
Ellie Voetberg (18:39.39) placed third, while
Anne May (18:42.84) finished fourth for the Golden Grizzlies.
Ava Alicandro rounded out the Golden Grizzlies' top-10 finishers with a time of 18:50.98.
For the men, three runners took the track, as Colin Farmer (15:51.37) finished eighth.
Joseph Shaya (16:08.04) and
Ethan Sandula (16:13.42) also competed in the race.
The Golden Grizzlies will return to the track tomorrow at 11 a.m., where they will compete in both sections of the one-mile and the 800 meters.
