INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Horizon League announced the 2026 Valeo Indoor Track and Field All-Academic teams and the Golden Grizzlies have a handful from each program represented on the list. Pierce Grzymkwoski, Carter McAlister, and Tyler Donovan (honorable mention) represent the men's team as Kylei Anderson and Jamie Giese round out the women.
Donovan, a sophomore majoring in Artificial Intelligence, posted a 3.71 GPA while delivering standout performances on the track. He broke the school record in the 800m at the GVSU Holiday Open and played a key role in Oakland's 4x400 relay success. Donovan helped the Golden Grizzlies to a first-place finish at the SVSU Tune-Up and a third-place showing at the Horizon League Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Grzymkowski, a sophomore with a 3.93 GPA in Electrical Engineering, also made a significant impact throughout the indoor campaign. He earned a runner-up finish in the 800m at the Akron Al Campbell Invitational and recorded six top-three finishes during the season. At the Horizon League Indoor Championships, Grzymkowski secured third place in the 800m and contributed to the third-place 4x400 relay team.
McCalister, a junior majoring in Computer Engineering, boasts a 3.94 GPA and an extensive list of academic accolades. He is a member of the Oakland University Dean's List and a three-time President's List honoree. McCalister is also a two-time Horizon League Academic Honor Roll selection and was named to the 2025 Cross Country Academic All-League Team.
Anderson, a junior with a 3.98 GPA in Exercise Science, put together a record-breaking indoor season. She owns Oakland's top marks this season in both the pentathlon and high jump and finished runner-up in the pentathlon at the Horizon League Indoor Championships. Anderson also claimed first-place finishes in the 60m hurdles at Notre Dame, the pentathlon at the SVSU Jet's Pizza Invitational, and the long jump at the SVSU Tune-Up.
Giese, a senior majoring in Exercise Science with a 3.90 GPA, dominated in the throws. She broke the school record in the shot put four times during the season and led the Horizon League in the event. Giese finished second in the shot put at the Horizon League Indoor Championships and recorded three top-three finishes throughout the indoor campaign.
