BUTLER, Penn. — Oakland (1-15, 0-1 HL) fell to Youngstown State (2-13, 1-0 HL) with a final score of 6–5 at Pullman Park Friday afternoon. Oakland rallied with a four-run fifth inning, highlighted by two home runs, but Youngstown State secured the win with two runs in the eighth.

Jordan Dahlof pitched 5.2 innings, allowing four earned runs on six hits, and recorded one strikeout.
Oakland fell behind as Youngstown State scored twice in the first inning. A two-RBI single gave the opponent the head start before the Penguins extended their lead to 3–0 with a home run.
Oakland responded in the fourth inning when Konopiots hit a solo home run to left field on the 2-2 pitch, reducing the deficit to 3–1.
The fifth inning marked a pivotal moment for the Golden Grizzlies. Revere hit a home run to left field with the bases loaded, driving in four runs, and propelling Oakland to a 5–3 lead.
Youngstown State narrowed the gap in the sixth inning with RBI single before they regained the lead in the eighth frame with a two-RBI single, solidifying the score.
Dahlof pitched 5.2 innings for Oakland, allowing four earned runs on six hits, while picking up a strikeout and allowing two walks. Junior
Blake Sehlke relieved Dahlof, pitching 1.2 innings and allowing one earned run on one hit and a strikeout at the plate. Sophomore
Andrew Landis finished the game, pitching 2/3 of an inning, giving up an run on a hit.
Oakland and Youngstown State will play game two of the series tomorrow at Pullman Park in Butler, Penn. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. ET.
