INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - On Wednesday, the league announced
Nicholas Karel Subagyo and
Kendra Venter as the #HLSD Swimmers of the Week.
Both athletes earned this award for the first time this season after their impressive performances against Wayne State during the week of January 21-27.
Subagyo showcased his endurance in the 1650 free, finishing first with a time of 15:34.75. This season-best performance qualified him for the B-cut finals of the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, which will be held March 12-14 in Ocala, Florida.
Venter, also qualifying for the B-cut finals of the CSCAA National Invitational Championship, achieved a personal-best time of 23.04 in the 50 free. The freshman also secured a first-place finish in the 100 back (57.97) and contributed to a second-place finish in the 200 medley for Oakland's B relay team.
Subagyo and Venter aim to lead their team to one final regular-season victory before the Horizon League Championships, as they face fellow Horizon League competitor, Cleveland State, this Friday, January 30.
