Luke Kelly,
Bhavneet Sohal, and
Jack Zubkus were named to 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars list, the Golf Coaches' Association of America (GCAA) announced on Tuesday.
Kelly wrapped up his junior campaign with a 74.55 stroke average in eight tournaments throughout the year. He was the individual winner of the Tom Tontimonia Invitational at Cleveland State in the fall, carding a 135 (-5) through the two rounds and earning his first career individual win. The Jordanstown, Ireland native is studying marketing and holds a blank 3.29.
Sohal, from Queensland, Australia, graduated from OU last year and earned a certificate in Information Security Management with a 3.33 GPA in May. He finished his senior year leading the program with a 73.80 stroke average through all nine tournaments. Sohal recorded two top-10 finishes during the 2024-25 season, a tied third-place finish at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational (142, +2) and a tied sixth-place finish at the World Golf Village Collegiate (143, -1).
Zubkus came to Oakland as a redshirt transfer from Penn State after his sophomore season and averaged a 75.09 stroke in his first season as a Golden Grizzly. He tied for ninth-place, carding 209 (-1), at the Butler-hosted Don Benbow Invitational for his career-best finish. The Ada, Mich. native is studying business administration and owns a 3.35 GPA through his junior year.
To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university. 548 NCAA Division I athletes from 188 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors.
