INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Men's Golf posts a strong second round to earn fifth place at the Don Benbow Invitational in Indianapolis, held at Highland Country Club.
The Golden Grizzlies faced a strong field, tough weather, and put together an impressive showing in Indiana. The Golden Grizzlies posted a three-round total of 859 (293-279-287) in the 54-hole event. The team made a strong push in the second round, firing a team score of 279 to climb the leaderboard. The team followed up with a steady final round of 287 to maintain a top-five finish in a competitive 13-team field.
They were led by
Matteo Rocco and
Bhavneet Sohal, who both captured top-30 finishes. Rocco was the top performer for Oakland, carding a total of 210 (72-68-70) to finish tied for 12th.
Bhavneet Sohal finished with a 215 (74-71-70). Competing as individuals,
Jack Zubkus also had an impressive showing, recording a 209 (69-72-68) to tie for 9th place as an individual.
Edward Rowe shot 216 (72-73-71) as an individual.
The Golden Grizzlies put together a great team outing in Indianapolis and look to continue this momentum into their next competition.
