ECU Intercollegiate Expands to Three Days; Oakland Set to Tee Off Sunday

ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland men's golf team returns to the ECU Intercollegiate for the sixth consecutive year, teeing off Sunday at the Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville, North Carolina.

Originally scheduled as a two-day event, the tournament has been expanded to three days of competition, shifting from the usual 36-18 format to an 18-18-18 setup due to inclement weather in the area. Play on the par-72, 6,803-yard course will now begin on March 15, the new opening day of competition, with a 10 a.m. (ET) start.

Fifteen teams will compete in this year's event: East Carolina (ECU), Barton, Bellarmine, Columbia, Fairleigh Dickinson, Gardner-Webb, Lehigh, Oakland, Old Dominion, Omaha, Presbyterian, St. John's, Temple, UCF, and UNC Wilmington.

The Golden Grizzlies have competed in ECU's spring event every year since the 2020-21 season and were scheduled to play in 2019-20 before the tournament was canceled due to COVID-19. Oakland finished 11th overall in last year's tournament, with its best performance coming in the 2021-22 season, when the team placed fifth.

Oakland's lineup for the ECU Intercollegiate features senior Ellis Kinnaird, juniors Matteo Rocco and Jack Zubkus, sophomore Brennan Sullivan, and freshman Rakshit Dahiya. Rocco, Zubkus, Sullivan, and Dahiya will make their second appearance together as a team after recording a top-10 54-hole score in program history and their second-best mark of the season at 860.

Initially slated to open play alongside UCF and Presbyterian, Oakland will now have its entire lineup tee off on hole one at 10:36 a.m. on day one.

Live scoring and statistics for each round will be available on Clippd.
