INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Horizon League announced today that the Golden Grizzlies Men's Indoor Track and Field team is slated to finish third for the first time since 2022 and Women's team is set to place fourth for the third consecutive year in the annual Under Armour Indoor #HLTF Preseason Poll.
All the head coaches participated in the poll and each gave their first-place vote to either Youngstown State or Milwaukee in the men's and women's categories. In both polls, Youngstown State was slated to win the Horizon League.
The Oakland women's team followed suit in fourth place behind Purdue Fort Wayne. Robert Morris, Northern Kentucky, and IU Indianapolis were the three teams voted behind the Golden Grizzlies, as Detroit Mercy, Wright State and Cleveland State rounded out the 10.
In the men's category, Youngstown State and Milwaukee polled in the three sports ahead of Oakland, with Purdue Fort Wayne, Detroit Mercy, Northern Kentucky, IU Indianapolis, and Wright State following behind the team.
At the 2025 #HLTF Indoor Championships, the Golden Grizzlies men exceeded their preseason expectations, finishing in third with 104 points, and Tyler Donovan earning Men's Freshman of the Year (Runner). The Golden Grizzlies women's team met their preseason forecast, finishing in fourth with 79 points and a handful of top-five finishes.
