ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland volleyball is set to face Northern Kentucky for the final homestand of the regular season this weekend, Friday and Saturday Nov. 7 and 8 inside the OU Credit Union O'rena. Friday's match will start at 6 p.m., while Saturday is scheduled for a 2 p.m. ET first serve on ESPN+. Matt Kibby will be on the call for both matches.
The Golden Grizzlies moved to 7-7 in the Horizon League after a series sweep of Youngstown State last weekend on the Blacktop. Middle blocker Grace Cooney and outside hitter Ella Martin teamed up to lead the Oakland offense over the weekend. Cooney totaled 14 kills off of a .285 hitting percentage on Friday night, while Martin hit a career-high 18 kills as Cooney hit 17 and stuffed a career-high four blocks at the net.
Oakland is ranked second in the nation (first in the Horizon League) in team attacks/set with 38.97, totaling 3,702 swings for 13th in the NCAA.

Northern Kentucky is leading the Horizon League in first place with a 13-1 league record, posting 17-8 overall. The Norse's lone conference loss came in five sets at Youngstown State in early October and have only given up nine sets in league matches.
The Norse are ahead of the #HLVB Preseason Poll votes, after being selected to finish sixth earlier this season. NKU is averaging 13.38 kills/set off of a .226 hitting percentage.The Golden Grizzlies hold the upper edge in the all-time series with Northern Kentucky, 13-11, but have won once in nine meetings.
