Women’s Swim and Dive to Host Eastern Michigan in Women-Only Meet

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Oakland University welcomes the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Wednesday at 4 PM for a women-only duel meet.

WOMEN'S PREVIEW
In their last competition, the Oakland women fell 243-114 to No. 10 Michigan and 255-109 to Pittsburgh. Lydia Soldatke led the way for the Golden Grizzlies, finishing third in both the 200 back and the 200 IM. Charisse Hickman outperformed the Pitt swimmers in the 200 breast, securing a fourth-place finish just behind the competitors from Michigan.

Hickman was named #HLSD Swimmer of the Week on November 12 for her performances at the home tri-meet, joining Soldatke in winning the award as a freshman this season.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
The Eastern Michigan Eagles are coming off a loss to Bowling Green, falling 169-131 in their most recent meet. Despite the loss, EMU won six events, while the Falcons claimed eight. Notably, six athletes from the Eagles achieved personal bests, with three of those in the diving events. Rose Kendrick earned MAC Diver of the Week honors on Nov. 4 following her performance against the reigning MAC Champions, the University of Akron. Nehir Oz and Nina Larosa each won two events, contributing to the Eagles' total of six wins.

This matchup marks the 42nd meeting between the two schools, with Eastern Michigan leading the all-time series 22-19-1. The women's competition between these two schools has taken place every year since the 2018-19 season. Previously, the EMU men also competed against Oakland, but the team's last competition was during the 2017-18 season before being discontinued. In their most recent meeting, Oakland faced EMU at Jones Natatorium in Ypsilanti, and the Eagles won 161-139. In that meet, Oakland's Mia Englender and Grace Albrecht achieved victories in the 1000 free and 100 back, respectively.
