Charisse Hickman earns her first #HLSD Swimmer of the Week award after her performances against No. 10 Michigan and Pitt.
The league announced Hickman as the #HLSD Women's Swimmer of the Week on Wednesday for the week of November 5-11. She joins fellow freshman Lydia Soldatke in receiving the award for the 2025-26 season.
During the tri-meet, Hickman competed in four events. Competing on the Oakland "B" team in the 200 medley relay, she helped her group to an eighth-place finish (1:46.98). Hickman swam the breaststroke leg of the relay, achieving the fastest split of all teams at 22.35, finishing over five seconds ahead of the next-best split.
In the individual breaststroke events, Hickman was the top Golden Grizzly competitor. In the 100 breast, she placed seventh with a time of 1:05.72. She excelled further in the 200 breast, earning a fourth-place finish. With her time of 2:18.82, the freshman outperformed all swimmers from Pitt and was just a second shy or less behind the top three swimmers from Michigan. Hickman's final event was the 200 IM, where she placed fifth overall (2:10.19).
The women's team returns on Nov. 20, where Hickman and her teammates will face the Eastern Michigan Eagles in a women-only meet at home at the OU Aquatic Center.
