SCOUTING THE PHOENIX
Green Bay is 6-12 overall in 2025, posting the same 5-2 record as Oakland in Horizon League action. The Phoenix picked up their only non-conference win over Chicago State in the Wisconsin Invitational, as they have Horizon League series sweeps over Youngstown State and Cleveland State. Green Bay is set in the middle of the league, averaging 15.52 kills/set and operating with a collective .185 hitting percentage.
The Phoenix were voted to finish third in the Horizon League with one first-place vote. Playing on the road in Green Bay, Oakland dropped two four-set matches with the hosts, with their last win occurring in five-set match up at home in 2023. Green Bay and the Golden Grizzlies first met in 1985 in the early Division II days, before four more meetings until regular competition in 2013 when Oakland joined the Horizon League. The Phoenix hold the all-time series record at 17-14.
