Women's Soccer Looks To Close out Home Stretch with a Win over Toledo

ROCHESTER, Mich. - Oakland caps off their three game home stand as they host the Toledo Rockets.

After a tough 0-1 loss to Northern Illinois on Sunday, Sept. 1 the Golden Grizzlies are looking to get back into the win column and finish out their home stand winning two of the three games.

The Golden Grizzlies are looking to extend their head-to-head winning streak against Toledo to three games, winning the past pair of face-offs including a 2-1 victory last season. Oakland also holds a 5-3 home record against Toledo, protecting home field at a high level in the matchup.

The Rockets have been on a tear in recent matchups, winning five of the last seven meetings with Oakland, securing a 0-1 victory the last time they visited Rochester in 2021.

Despite a recent loss to NIU, the Golden Grizzlies are coming into form, with the game against the Huskies being one of their most aggressive on offense while playing true to their new scheme as a team. The squad is steadily becoming more connected and is shaping into what could be a tough team to beat when league play comes around.

The Rockets are 1-2-1 coming into the week, with a match against Loyola Chicago still to come on Thursday. They did beat Detroit Mercy 0-1 on Aug. 30, but Toledo has still fallen in two of their last three games.
