DETROIT, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team is set to face off against the University of Michigan Wolverines in an exhibition game Sunday, Oct. 20, at Little Caesars Arena benefitting Forgotten Harvest, 313 Presents and both schools have announced.

Tip-off for the charity exhibition game is set for 5:00 p.m. ET and will be available on BTN-Plus.

Tickets are on sale NOW and can be found HERE or at the XFINITY Box Office at Little Caesars Arena. Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more by calling the Group Sales Department at (313) 471-3099.

Forgotten Harvest is a non-profit food insecurity organization whose vision is to work with communities to end hunger and create individual, neighborhood, economic, and environmental health. Food insecurity is one's inability to obtain sufficient food for their household's needs.

Metro Detroit's largest food rescue operation, Forgotten Harvest rescues surplus food produced, or ordered, in amounts greater than what can be sold from over 560 food donors and delivers it for free to over 220 community agency partners. Last fiscal year (2022-23) Forgotten Harvest distributed over 40 million pounds of food, or 33 million meals.

"We're really excited for this exhibition game and for Oakland to be Dusty's first opponent as Michigan's head coach," Oakland head coach Greg Kampe said. "Our team is looking forward to it, but more importantly, we're honored to contribute to the fight against hunger in our community and we're proud to support an organization like Forgotten Harvest that does so much for those in need. It's also great for our dedicated fans so we need everyone to buy tickets, show out and fill up Little Caesars Arena."

The men's basketball team, led by Greg Kampe who enters his 41st season as Oakland's head coach, is coming off one of its most successful seasons as the Golden Grizzlies took down the University of Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament last March. The 80-76 win marked Oakland's first Round of 64 win in program history and took eventual Final Four participant NC State to overtime in the Round of 32. Behind Jack Gohlke's 10 three pointers (32 points) and Trey Townsend's double-double (17 points, 12 rebounds), the Golden Grizzlies, as a 14-seed, bested the 3-seeded Wildcats which included three 2024 NBA Draft picks with two first rounders.

The Golden Grizzlies will be the first team Dusty May will face as the Wolverines head coach as May was announced the team's new bench boss following last March. May, who enters his seventh season as an NCAA DI head coach, led Florida Atlantic for six seasons including a Final Four appearance.

The matchup marks the 10th meeting between the two teams as the Golden Grizzlies last played the Wolverines in 2020 on the road. In the 10 meetings, three have been played on the home court of the Detroit Pistons (Little Caesars Arena, 2024; Palace of Auburn Hills, 2008 & 2011).
