ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies used three hits to propel itself to a win, and a weekend sweep, over the Milwaukee Panthers, 4-2, this afternoon on the Oakland Baseball Field.

The Golden Grizzlies (28-24, 16-11 HL) were led by
Brandon Nigh who was the only Golden Grizzly to tally more than one hit as
Carter Hain led the group with two RBI.
Brandon Decker came for relief and led the team with his eight strikeouts.

The Panthers (16-33, 11-16 HL) were led by Justin Hausser who tallied a pair of hits as Owen Rice led the pitching core with six strikeouts.

It was a strong defensive battle in the opening frames as only a pair of hits were recorded through four, all from Milwaukee's side. The Panthers broke the stalemate in the fifth as it brought home the first run of the game off a single, followed by a RBI triple the following inning to make it 2-0.

The Golden Grizzlies put the pressure on in the sixth as it juiced the bases with no outs of a pair of hit by pitches and a single.
Trent Rice sped home and everyone was pushed up a base after a wild pitch, as
Carter Hain brought in two more runs for the lead with a single through the left side. The Panthers were attacking in the seventh as it had two runners on, but
Brandon Decker battled through a full count and got the final batter out swinging.

Oakland extended its lead to two during its next at-bat as Nigh waited through a full count for a walk as
Brandon Heidal brought him home with a deep double towards center. The Golden Grizzlies held its two-run lead into the ninth and needed three more outs for the weekend sweep. The Panthers loaded up the bases with one out but Decker took over as he tallied his second strikeout of the inning and caught the game-winning out off a line drive.

The Golden Grizzlies were outhit, 6-3, as each team was perfect on the field with no errors. The Panthers left 12 runners stranded as the Golden Grizzlies left seven, as Oakland totaled one less strikeout with 11.
