NILES, Ohio. - The Golden Grizzlies were defeated by the Youngstown State Penguins, 7-6, this afternoon off a walk-off home run on Eastwood Field.

The Golden Grizzlies (22-20, 11-9 HL) were led by
Brandon Heidal who led the team with a pair of hits and
Reggie Bussey got on base for his 42nd-straight game.

The Penguins (10-32, 7-13 HL) were led by Trey Law who recorded a trio of hits and RBI on the day, as Braden Gebhardt led the game with five strikeouts.

The Penguins got things started in its first at-bats as it crossed a pair of runs to jump to an early 2-0 lead. Oakland answered though, as
Brandon Heidal got on base and was brought home by a
Carter Hain triple, followed by a
Trent Rice single to tie things up at two. Rice made his way from first to third off a pair of steals and crossed home to take the lead after
Reggie Bussey singled down the first base line.

The Golden Grizzlies kept it rolling in the third as
Gavin Arseneau crossed home off a wild pitch to bump the lead to a pair. The Golden Grizzlies bats were hot as
Sam Griffith was walked, followed by
John Lauinger who was hit by a pitch, followed by a
Brandon Nigh walk to juice the bases with one out. Oakland converted with its bases jacked, as Arseneau was hit from a pitch, followed by a sacrifice fly by Heidal to put the game at 6-2.

Following its six runs in three innings, the Golden Grizzlies went hitless through innings five to eight, as Youngstown State made it a game after it hit a three-run home run right before a lightning delay put a pause to the game. Oakland got the final out in the eighth as it led by one as Youngstown State had three outs to tie things up.

Oakland was held hitless in the ninth as its last hit came in the third innings, while Youngstown State had one on with two outs. The Penguins took home the win as it walked the game off with a home run as the Golden Grizzlies fell, 7-6.

The Golden Grizzlies were outhit, 13-6, while the Penguins committed the only error on the day. Oakland left four runners stranded as Youngstown State left nine, as the Penguins tallied five extra-base hits compared to the Golden Grizzlies one. Youngstown State struckout nine as Oakland tallied one, while the Golden Grizzlies accounted for all five stolen bases of the game.
