It wasn't long before the Golden Grizzlies knotted things up though as Heidal and Gavin Arseneau hit back-to-back home runs to square things away at six after five. The home run train kept on rolling as Nigh tallied his second home run of the game to take the lead by one. The team didn't stop there as a hit by pitch and two walks loaded the bases with two outs which Trent Rice took advantage of as he cleared the bases with a double to make it 10-6. Rice made his way to third off a steal and found home from an error to take a five-run lead.

The Eagles, once again, answered with a pair of runs to cut into the Golden Grizzlies lead and make it 12-8. John Lauinger added a pair of insurance runs as a deep shot that went over the fence brought him and Heidal in.
