MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Golden Grizzlies held its opponent under 50 points for the first time since 2022 (27 vs. Defiance, 11/7/22) as Oakland grabbed its final regular season road win and took down the Colonials, 63-43, tonight inside the UPMC Events Center.

Trey Townsend led the Golden Grizzlies (19-10, 14-4 HL) as he set a new career-high from the line with 14 makes and tallied his sixth double-double of the season as he brought down 17 boards. DQ Cole followed behind as he sank four shots, with one from range, to total 12 points to accompany his six rebounds.

The Colonials (10-18, 6-11 HL) were led by Alvaro Folgueiras who tallied 13 points with 11 boards for the double-double, as TJ Wainwright was close behind with 11 points.

Cole got the scoring started for the Golden Grizzlies as Townsend brought down his own offensive board and added two more for Oakland. The Colonials grabbed its first points nearly 3:30 into the game with a make from three before the Golden Grizzlies answered with three points of its own. It was a strong defensive effort from both ends as only 16 points were scored in the opening 8:00 of play as Oakland held on to its six-point lead.

Play continued back-and-forth as Tuburu Naivalurua got in on the scoring after a finish from a Townsend feed, followed by Townsend grabbing his seventh point of the contest with a slam. Cole hit the first from range for the Golden Grizzlies while Tone Hunter followed up and sped around the Colonials back line of defense to feed Chris Conway who slammed it through for the 20-9 lead. Oakland's defense continued to be a tall task for the Colonials as it only made five shots from the field in the first 16:54 of play and went 4:35 without a make.

Jack Gohlke extended Oakland's lead to 15 after the reigning Horizon League Player of the Week made his first shot from downtown, but the Colonials brought its scoring drought and answered with a three of its own. Robert Morris cut its deficit to 10 points with 2:20 to go but Conway added another dunk to his name with an under the hoop slam. Robert Morris tallied a jumper and tried to head into the break down single-digits, but missed at the buzzer to give Oakland the lead after 20, 29-19.

Cole and Townsend led the Golden Grizzlies with nine points a piece as Townsend nearly recorded a double-double as he brought down eight boards. Both teams struggled on the floor as Oakland shot at a .387 clip (12-of-31) but held Robert Morris to just eight makes from the field on 30 shots (.267). The Colonials led off the glass with three more boards than the Golden Grizzlies, 22-19.

Oakland wasted no time putting points on the board as Cole grabbed a quick two :16 seconds into the half. The Colonials answered, though, and brought the Golden Grizzlies lead down to single digits for the first time since 6:35 left in the first half. Robert Morris hit another from three following two makes from the charity stripe from Townsend as Blake Lampman answered right back with a bucket from deep.

A 7-0 run for the Colonials put the team's deficit to 15, but Conway put a halt to the run as he muscled his way down low for a two. Townsend made his 12th and 13th free throw of the game to tie his career high as Gohlke followed it with a three as Oakland remained in the driver's seat, up 20. Townsend went on to grab his career-high in free throws made as he sank his 14th, and grabbed one final board to match his career-high with 17, as Oakland rolled and took its final away game of the regular season, 63-43.

The Golden Grizzlies made 20 shots from the field (20-of-58, .345) as the Colonials struggled from the floor and shot at a .283 clip (17-of-60).
