Golden Grizzlies Visit Robert Morris for Final Road Game of Regular Season

ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team hits the road for one final time of the regular season as it wraps up its season series against Robert Morris Thursday (Feb. 22) inside UPMC Events Center, with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. ET.

The Golden Grizzlies (18-10, 13-4 HL) used its high-flying offense to soar past the IUPUI Jaguars, 107-59, to grab the win at home.

IUPUI jumped out to an early lead as it knocked down back-to-back threes, but it was all Oakland from there on out as it proceeded on a 12-0 run to make it 23-8 near the midway point of the first. Oakland kept the pedal to the medal as it held the Jaguars to 24 points in the first half while the Golden Grizzlies headed into the locker room with 51.

The team kept pace in the second half as it opened up with 11 points before IUPUI got on the stat sheet. The game was controlled through Jack Gohlke who sank a handful of threes in each half to help increase Oakland's lead. The Golden Grizzlies lead didn't dip below 25 points in the second half and grew its lead to 50 down the stretch. Rocket Watts tallied the last six points of the game as the team went on to win, 107-59.

All nine Golden Grizzlies who saw the floor recorded a point as Oakland went 37-of-56 (.661) from the floor and outrebounded the Jaguars, 37-25.

Gohlke, who was named this week's Horizon League Men's Basketball Player of the Week, led the Golden Grizzlies with 31 points, good to tie his career-high and the only Oakland player to score 30+ points this season, as he sank 10 threes in 24:00 minutes on court time. His 10 threes placed him t-2nd in the Golden Grizzlies record book for most threes made in a game, as he shot at a .667 clip from deep. Gohlke is also t-2nd across the NCAA for total three pointers made and t-4th in the nation in three pointers per game with 3.46 (as of 2/20). He is the conference leader in three point field goals made per game and second in the league in three point percentage (.361).

SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
Oakland took care of Robert Morris (10-17, 6-10 HL) at home, 87-72, in the beginning of February. The Colonials bounced back days after as it wrapped up its road trip with a win over Detroit Mercy, 75-67, and nearly upset Green Bay when it returned home as it dropped a close one in overtime, 81-76. Robert Morris' only other win between its meetings between the Golden Grizzlies came against Milwaukee, as it rides a two-game losing streak into Thursday.

Lampman showed out against the Colonials and started the game with four-straight threes and accounted for all of Oakland's 12 points in the opening five minutes of play. Oakland held the lead in the opening half as Lampman stayed hot and drained another three for his 20th point. The Golden Grizzlies held the Colonials scoreless for nearly four minutes as it took advantage and rattled off 11-straight points to widen its lead to 40-23, but the Colonials finished the half on a 7-0 run to make it 40-30 at the break.

Oakland grew its lead to as much as 20 in the second half, but Robert Morris battled back and went on a 12-0 run to put itself back in the game. The Golden Grizzlies would pull ahead though and remained in control of the game as it grew its lead to 15 down the stretch as it used free throws to put the game to rest and win, 87-72.
