DAYTON, Ohio - The Golden Grizzlies got back on track and find itself back in the win column as Oakland defeated Wright State, 74-60, tonight inside the Nutter Center.

Trey Townsend led the Golden Grizzlies (16-10, 11-4 HL) as he shot 9-of-14 (.643) from the field with one three to total 19 points along with seven boards.
DQ Cole grabbed his first double-double in a Golden Grizzlies uniform as he knocked down seven of his 11 shots (.636) for 15 points and led the game with 11 boards.

The Raiders (14-12, 9-6 HL) saw Tanner Holden lead the team with 15 points and also tallied a double-double with his 10 boards. Trey Calvin was right behind and was held under his points per game average (20.0) as he finished the game with 14 (5-of-14 FG).

Oakland grabbed the first points of the game, courtesy of a Cole two, as the teams went on to trade a handful of points in the next few minutes. Wright State hit the first three of the game to put itself ahead, 7-6, at the 16:13 mark, followed up by mid-range jumper to go ahead three. The Raiders held the Golden Grizzlies scoreless for 4:04 of game time as
Rocket Watts ended the drought with a quick two.

Oakland got right to it though as Townsend made a tough shot down low and came up with a steal seconds later and found
Isaiah Jones streaking on the fast break for a slam. Cole continued the run with a layup, followed by another Wright State turnover to give Oakland the ball right back. Cole continued to roll and added his sixth point of the contest as the Raiders eventually ended the 8-0 run with a two of its own.

The Golden Grizzlies kept up its pace and locked down on defense against Wright State's nationally ranked scoring offense (6th overall in NCAA) as it only allowed two points from the team in 7:29 of playtime. Despite the strong defensive effort, it was matched by the Raiders as the Golden Grizzlies only held onto a two-point lead with just under five minutes to play.
Jack Gohlke grabbed the first three pointer for Oakland with 4:06 left to play in the opening 20, followed by a Townsend layup, to match the largest Golden Grizzlies lead of the game at seven.

Wright State grabbed a quick two before Gohlke widened the lead with another make from deep, followed by a turnaround jumper from Conway to push its lead to double digits. Ten points turned to 12 as Jones put one up and through with :30 seconds left to play. The team locked down in the final seconds and forced a miss at the buzzer from the Raiders to head into halftime with the lead, 36-24.

Cole led the team after the first 20 with eight points as the Golden Grizzlies held the Raiders leading scorer, Trey Calvin, to just four. The Golden Grizzlies outshot the Raiders at a .471 clip (16-of-34) compared to Wright State's .333 clip (11-of-33). Both teams made a pair from beyond the arc, as Gohlke made the two for Oakland, while both teams were at an even 20 off the glass.

The Raiders cut its deficit to single digits in the opening minutes with a three as the teams went back-and-forth trading points. Wright State started to claw back and put it at a three-point game before Townsend bumped it up to five, followed up by a three by Gohlke, to make it 47-39 with 12:47 to play. Oakland continued to roll as
Blake Lampman capped off the Golden Grizzlies 10-2 run with his first make of the game from range.

Oakland remained in front for the majority of the second half as it continued to not let up its lead and keep a cushion of a lead. Although Wright State averages 86.0 points per game, the Golden Grizzlies held strong as it took nearly 35 minutes of game time for the Raiders to reach 50. The Raiders were never out and kept Oakland on its toes as it made one from downtown to make it 63-56 in favor of the Golden Grizzlies with 4:13 to play.

Cole picked up a pair to inch back closer to the double-digit point lead and grabbed a key defensive rebound on the other end of the court with 2:30 to play. The Raiders hit a pair of free throws with a tick over two minutes to play, but a Gohlke three from the corner bumped it to a 10-point game as Oakland held the lead, 68-58. Townsend put the game on ice as he drilled a three to go up, 71-58, to put a comeback out of reach for the Raiders. Cole added one more three on Oakland's last possession to take the win, 74-60.

The Golden Grizzlies improved from the floor in the final 20 and shot 15-of-28 (.536) to bump its game total to an even .500 clip (31-of-62). The Raiders were slightly better in the second half and went 12-of-35 (.343) but still struggled overall as it went 23-of-68 (.338). Oakland knocked down eight from range as Wright State only had a handful as it attempted 28 (5-of-28 3FG). Oakland held the edge off the glass after 40 minutes and brought down 40 compared to Wright State's 39.
