ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Golden Grizzlies men's basketball team wraps up its preseason schedule with an exhibition matchup just down the road, as it'll face Rochester Christian this Friday in Rochester Hills, inside the Garth Pleasant Arena, with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. ET.
Oakland opened up its preseason with an exhibition game against the University of Michigan Wolverines inside Little Caesars Arena. The Oakland Golden Grizzlies were defeated by the Michigan Wolverines, 92-48, as Oakland's standout player was
Jayson Woodrich, who scored 18 points, including two three-pointers.
Allen Mukeba added 11 points, and
DQ Cole led with nine rebounds. Michigan's Will Tschetter led his team with 15 points, while Danny Wolf achieved a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Michigan had a strong first half, shooting .600 from the floor and building a 22-point lead by halftime. Oakland struggled offensively, shooting just .267 overall and being outrebounded 52-33. Michigan's 15 made threes and second-half control sealed the exhibition win.

Rochester Christian enters the 2024-25 season ranked fourth in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (NAIA) Preseason Coaches Poll after it wrapped up the season 17-12 last season with a 12-10 record. Overall, the Golden Grizzlies are undefeated against the Warriors with an 11-0 record that dates back to 1998. Friday's game marks the second time the Golden Grizzlies will visit the Warriors, as Oakland's last meeting on the road came in the 2022-23 season as the Golden Grizzlies won, 66-64. In the team series, the Golden Grizzlies score an average of 83.6 points per game and have scored 100+ points on two occasions.
