Indianapolis, Ind. - Trey Townsend has earned his first Under Armour #HLMBB Player of the Week honors of his career. 

The junior from Oxford, MI led the Golden Grizzlies to an undefeated week with wins over Milwaukee and Green Bay. Against Milwaukee (1/4/24) he posted a season-high 28 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals. He followed that performance with another 28-point outing against Green Bay (1/6/24), adding 11 rebounds while shooting 10-of-16 (.625) from the field. 

Townsend averaged 28 points and 9.5 rebounds per game while shooting .529 FG%, ranking second in scoring and rebounding among all Horizon League players during the week. His performances have helped Oakland jump into a tie for third place in the Horizon League standings.

On the season Townsend ranks fifth in scoring (17.4 ppg) and third in rebounding (7.8 rpg) in the Horizon League. He is also ninth in field goal percentage (.458) and sixth in free throw percentage (.760) while playing the most minutes among any player in the league at 600 total minutes (35.3 mpg), emerging as Oakland's leader and workhorse talent.

Townsend looks to continue his hot streak as he leads Oakland into what could be their fourth straight win as they host Northern Kentucky on Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m.
