ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Oakland women's soccer team returns home after four-straight road games as the Golden Grizzlies take on in-state foe Western Michigan at the Oakland Soccer Field on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 7 pm presented by Oakland University Credit Union broadcast on ESPN+.

Thursday's match-up against the Broncos (3-1) marks the fourth game this season against a Mid-American Conference (MAC) team this season as the Golden Grizzlies (1-3-2) have faced off against Kent State, Eastern Michigan, and Northern Illinois. Oakland will close out non-conference play on the road against Toledo, also a member of the MAC, on Sunday Sept. 10 at 1 pm.
Oakland enters Thursday's match looking for its first win against the Broncos since 2013. Last year's meeting resulted in a 1-1 draw from Kalamazoo.
The Golden Grizzlies are coming off a 2-2 draw against Illinois State on Sunday where sophomore
Frankie Mudd recorded her first goal of the season off an assist from
Grace Sampson. With the help from
Putri Sazali, freshman
Melaina Troy scored her first career goal as a Golden Grizzly and the second half equalizer with about 20 minutes remaining in the game.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
After two-straight home games, MAC leader, Western Michigan travels to the Oakland Soccer Field for Thursday's match-up, looking to remain perfect on the road this season.
The Broncos are coming off a 2-1 loss, the first of the season, against Wisconsin. WMU's fifth year forward, Reagan Wisser notched her first goal of the season in the Broncos' loss to the Badgers.
Forward Jen Blitchok leads WMU in goals (2), shots on goal (5) and shots (11) on the year. Goalkeeper Lauren Boafo has played every minute of Western's four games and enters Thursday's match only allowing three goals and tallying 10 saves.
