CHICAGO, Ill. - The fourth in a five-match road swing, the Oakland Golden Grizzlies were defeated by the Loyola Chicago Ramblers, 1-0, on Labor Day, Monday, September 4, at the Loyola Soccer Park.
With the loss, the Golden Grizzlies fall to 0-3-1 in 2023, while Loyola Chicago, a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference (A-10), moves to 2-0-1.
Ramblers freshman forward Petar Janjic tallied the match's lone goal in the 75th minute.
Oakland registered two shots on goal, both courtesy of sophomore forward Jack Klomparens.
Senior Alex Flowers, a Western Illinois Leathernecks transfer, drew the start in goal for the Golden Grizzlies in this one, finishing with five saves.

Completing this five-match road trip, Oakland will begin Horizon League play by traveling to the Krenzler Soccer Field to battle the reigning conference champion Cleveland State Vikings (1-1-1) on Saturday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
